Agility Puppy Class Lessons

Our Agility Puppy Class will start Sunday, December 4th, at 10:00am. This class will meet every Sunday for six weeks except on December 25th. The cost is $165 for the six week session. The classes will be taught by Kathleen Alles.

Puppies must be at least 10 weeks old and have at least two of their puppy shots to join the class.

There are several foundation behaviors that are important for an agility dog to know (and ALL dogs for that matter) such as recall, sit, stay, focus and impulse control. There are also lots of fun behaviors that agility dogs need to know that can and should be taught to a puppy such as climbing on objects, being confident walking on things that move, having forefoot and rearfoot awareness and developing good balance and strength. The puppy class will show you how to each all of these things and is a lot of fun for you and your puppy!

Bring your puppy’s favorite toy, a lot of tasty, treats (suggestions-string cheese, tiny cut up hot dogs, tiny bits of cut up cooked meat, or soft store bought treats that your puppy goes CRAZY for), a treat bag that you can wear, and a mat or portable crate to your first class. A clicker is optional. Flat collars or harnesses only please, no pinch or choke chain collars.

Important: Bring a hungry puppy! Feed your puppy very little, if any breakfast. Don’t worry, he will be getting lots of treats during the lesson.
