Foundation Agility Class Lessons

A new Foundation class will start Saturday, September 6th at 9:30am and run for six weeks (no class on October 4th). Please email us at info@heartdogagility.com if you are interested in attending or you may register below. You need to create a Handler Profile to register.

Foundation training is the most important part of training an agility dog! Without a good foundation, your dog will not be able to learn the necessary skills for performing the obstacles and running courses successfully.

The Foundation lessons will cover: Handling on the flat (preparation for running courses), restrained recalls (increases drive), impulse control games, crate games, toy play (for motivation to play agility), the proper way to reward with food, shaping games (preparation for teaching equipment), stays, balance and wobble board games (preparation for the dog walk and teeter), recalls with distractions.

The lessons are open to dogs 8 months and older and run for six weeks. The cost is $155. There will be no make ups for missed classes.

Bring a crate, a six foot leash and flat collar (no choke chains or prong collars), your dog’s favorite toy(s) and at least 100 soft, pea-sized treats (cut up hot dogs or string cheese works well).
